Five sentences about me…

I am a mother to two beautiful four year olds, and just wrote a children’s book for them as a way to explain how they came to be, “Brothers Born a Month Apart.”

Five sentences about what I've endured in the fertility realm...

After three rounds of IVF and eight unexplained miscarriages, my fiancé and I turned to a surrogate for help carrying our child. After we transferred an embryo to the surrogate, I decided that I didn’t want to give up and transferred one to me. My determination paid off and I am now a mother to two beautiful boys who were born a month apart.

One thing I wish I knew going into my fertility journey...

When we were going through our journey, I didn’t lean on anyone or talk much about what I was going through. It wasn’t until recently that I posted our journey online. The outpouring of support and stories from people who had gone through similar situations was both heartbreaking and inspiring. I wish I had known that there are so many people who are positive and encouraging and will inspire you to keep going.

One thing about me that is forever changed because of my fertility journey...

Determination over heartbreak breeds the biggest joys in life.

One product, practice, or ritual I adopted during my fertility journey, which I have/have not kept a part of my life...

After eight miscarriages, I finally turned to acupuncture and a gluten, dairy, and sugar free diet. I tell anyone suffering with infertility to try these options. It is something you can control and has many health benefits along with proven fertility benefits.
